POME to Power: Turning Palm Oil Waste into Renewable Energy

Advanced Covered Lagoon Biogas Solutions for the Palm Oil Industry
Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) is more than a waste stream—it is an untapped source of renewable energy. At Webber Energy Ghana, we transform high-strength organic waste from palm oil processing into valuable biogas through professionally engineered anaerobic digestion and covered lagoon technology. Our solutions are designed to help palm oil mills reduce environmental impact, lower energy costs, improve waste management, and generate renewable energy for productive use. From Waste to Energy. From Challenge to Opportunity. Our covered lagoon biogas systems are engineered to efficiently treat POME while capturing the biogas produced during anaerobic digestion. The recovered biogas can be utilized for boilers, thermal applications, cooking, electricity generation, or other suitable energy requirements.
This creates a practical circular-energy solution:
POME → Anaerobic Digestion → Biogas → Renewable Energy → Reduced Waste & Greater Value

OUR COLLABORATIVE PROJECT MODEL

To deliver high-quality projects while optimizing our clients' investment, Webber Energy Ghana operates a Hybrid Execution Model.
We take responsibility for the specialized engineering, biogas technology, equipment, installation, commissioning, and technical training, while the client manages selected civil and local infrastructure works under our engineering supervision.

WEBBER ENERGY GHANA RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Engineering & Design
We provide detailed engineering designs, technical layouts, process specifications,                 equipment sizing, and customized system designs based on the client's POME                       characteristics and energy requirements.
2. Specialized Equipment Supply
We supply critical biogas equipment, including high-performance gas membranes, gas        handling systems, mixing/agitation equipment, piping components, safety systems, and      other essential plant equipment.
3. Installation & Commissioning
Our technical team provides professional installation, system integration, testing,                  commissioning, and start-up support to ensure the plant operates according to design         requirements.
4. Training & Capacity Building
We train the client's operators and maintenance personnel in safe operation, routine           monitoring, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic plant management.

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Excavation & Earthworks
The client undertakes site clearing, excavation, foundations, drainage, and other earthworks in accordance with Webber Energy Ghana's approved engineering drawings and specifications.
Civil & Concrete Works
The client executes required greywork and reinforced concrete structures, including perimeter structures, equipment foundations, agitator housing, digestate/sludge management structures, and associated civil works.
Quality & Engineering Compliance
All client-executed civil works must strictly comply with our approved technical drawings, dimensions, material specifications, and construction standards. Webber Energy Ghana provides technical supervision and quality control throughout the relevant stages of construction.

WHY WEBBER ENERGY GHANA?
We don't simply build biodigesters.
We engineer solutions that turn waste into energy, environmental challenges into opportunities, and palm oil operations into more sustainable businesses. With the right technology and engineering approach, POME can become a valuable energy asset rather than a costly waste-management problem
